We have developed a teacher training curriculum and were able to host training sessions for teachers and educational personnel about new techniques of teaching how to read. We believe this will empower teachers in classrooms to teach more effectively.
The focus of our last quarter has been working with local groups to improve bus networks. We believe that it is vital to provide transportation options for children living in rural areas. Thanks to our donors we were able to fund 50 buses and 200 cars that transport children to schools all around the globe.
This summer, because of the effort of our volunteers and the generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to deliver 10,000 pencils to children in need. We were able to reach the most unprivileged areas and provide local schools with this vital tool for education.
It is all about humanity in this blog. All concerns and ideas of humans, their lives, and how they live it. Too many topics, and so much to say and discuss, still I will try to keep things organized and simple, because the reader should at the end enjoy reading and contribute to the discussion.
The essence of the human being, his behavior and his surroundings have not only interested me as a discussion theme, but also inspired me as a search topic. And to understand human kind, one should start by understanding the origins and creation before humans existed. Because there was a kind of preperation for the existence of humans, or as Darwin called it: the evolution.
Whether you believe in the big bang or the religious story of creation in 6 days, I guess both are not contradicting. “And for most of history, cosmology has been intricately entwined with religion and philosophy. How was the universe created? Why was it created? How does it work? How unique is earth, our solar system, mankind? With questions this big, one almost has to rely on answers from all three disciplines: religion, philosophy, and science.” (Karen C. Fox 2002)
I have not yet read the books “The Grand Design” or “A Brief History of Time” by the great Stephen Hawking. I will. And all this talk about the beginning and the end of the world is scientifically very interesting. But trying to prove it to be all by chance, I do not believe that. I cannot believe that all this order is by a mere chance. It is to me like saying: a pen would fall on its head. This is a one in a thousand chance maybe. And the pen staying upright on its head for some time might be one in a million chance. Then the pen evolving over time to write a one page poem. Sorry, by no chance! My idea is: there is a reason behind creation! We just need to keep searching and asking the right questions to try to find it.
